28. ‘Doctor Forrest’ interview with Richard T Kelly @ The Gothic Imagination website

The Wallace Monument in Stirling

Somehow I expect that if you’ve found your way to this page on account of an interest in the gothic then you must already be acquainted with the magnificent Gothic Imagination website that reflects the work of a project based at the University of Stirling: “an interdisciplinary forum for lively discussion and critical debate concerning all manifestations of the Gothic mode.” Professor of English Glennis Byron is the convenor of the project, and having read and enjoyed The Possessions of Doctor Forrest she kindly proposed that she and I have a discussion about the novel and its gothic lineage, the results of which are now online at the Gothic Imagination, along with an extract from the opening of the novel. Any author would be grateful for the kind of consideration, interest and expertise Professor Byron brought to this interview – and this author is especially grateful.
